When a publisher stops printing a book, the remaining copies in retailer inventory are the last ones available at cover price. Once those sell out, the only option is the secondary market (eBay, AbeBooks) where prices often surge to 2-5x MSRP.

Our OOP risk score (0-100) analyzes several signals: whether the book is still stocked by primary retailers, how eBay prices compare to MSRP, release age, discount levels, and number of vendors with stock. A higher score means higher risk of going out of print soon.
